I just have a few little things I'm finally getting around to in my HOD hack. 1. I notice that Juste's character shares a palette with blood and hearts. Cam I repoint his character palette to some free space to have different colors? (My belnades hack has his coat, blood and hearts all dark blue and I want them separated. 2. I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but can we change Juste and Maxim's code to make Maxim the main character (in a hex editor without cheating) or would we have cutscene issues then? 3. Finally, and this is just an attempt on my part, I wish we could cycle through the subweapons like we dp the spell books, but since that doesn't seem to be possible, I'm using dsvania to add my favorite subweapon/book combos to the blank slots of the books that don't do anything.😃 I noticed new mod on Romhackings & you are among its makers. Can I ask why we here know nothing about it? I got cutscene bugs with Maxim even with cheat engine. Only some cutscenes load up properly. No idea what is the reason. You can make sub-weapon switcher with cheat engine (Maxim can use Hydro Storm too), but that would be PC only. GBA emulators have gamesharks, but I have no idea about how to work with them & need to use existing buttons for switch. Ok. So, I can't switch/repoint the palettes because of how they're set up, but in giving Juste Custom Blank spell book attacks (custom combinations, I mean), I accidentally discovered an unused move option for Maxim! The Unused/None option under spells in DSvania corresponds to Maxim, not Juste. If you hit down, down/forward, forward, Attack (think Alucard Sword Teleport in SOTN), you can assign Maxim any one of Juste's spells with NO side effects!! I chose Ice/Knife since he's a ninja and the knives home in. I was also able to alter plain subweapons to their strengthened forms when picked up with Juste!

I remember some info about that combination for Maxim, but it never gave me any result. Maybe JP version have some difference though...

Lots of HOD discussion! I have been thinking about how to improve on HOD for awhile. Any help would be welcome. I would like to make an english CVHOD hack like Revenge on the Findesiecle: where Juste has Belnades palette (original ver. with purple afterimages); Maxim has Alucard palette colors, ability to level up, equipment menu, and retains all of his hidden attacks, as well as the elemental shurikens listed in the DSVania Editor; Julius still fully playable but with dark gray coat instead of brown coat; Megaman has permanent bullet tip, which does just as much damage with bullet as base whip, noglo, and obtaining whip tips gives him color change with elemental damage, crushing stone allows for charge shot, and equipment menu as well; Simon is removed, replaced with Ralph; SimonX is replaced with CV2 Simon sprite, still faster, jumps higher, has afterimages, has equipment menu, and starts with higher base attack than Juste; Mario is replaced with "Fire Mario" adult version, fireball has permanent bullet tip and does base fire damage, with color and element change after equipping different element whip tips, add hidden attacks like Julius and Maxim, stomp collision does base jump kick damage; Devil Juste/ JusteX has equipment menu, with highest def, and starting base attack, uses book spells at double damage, and passes through enemies during dash; Add Getsu Fuuma, Yoko Belnades, and Eric Lecarde characters. Phew! Next: Add 2 new areas to castle: 1 outside the sky chapel with tiles and BG to reflect exiting the interior but still being unable to completely leave the castle, sort of like a Sky Garden or Floating Courtyard; 2 An underground catacomb/ hell prison, with all stronger enemies, with a reward of full endgame gear spread through out from weakest to strongest, including a new Ultimate whip tip. Last: Add music from other games to reflect changes. Opening area for Megaman plays megaman 3 opening; for Simon, Theme of Simon (bloodlines ver.); for Ralph, Beginning from CV3; Maxim's own theme for himself; for Mario, Bowser's Castle from Super Mario World; for Devil Juste, Bloody Tears (Super Castlevania 4 ver.); for Getsu, Clockwork Library from SCV4; for Yoko, Inner Quarters from AOS; And for Eric, Sinkng Old Sanctuary from Bloodlines. Let me know if ANYONE can help at all, even a little.

Hello Everyone. I've been messing around alot with Harmony of Dissonance modding with DSVania lately, and just a quick question. What is the best way to go about editing the menus? For example, the Prologue Screens, and various Pause Menus, etc.
I tried to used Tiled, but when I make an edit on Tiled, it does NOT import to DSVania, it just resets or reloads the original look of everything.
My goal is to change the colors of the Prologue/Title Screens and also the colors of the Menus. Changing the palette itself, I realize does not work and apparently more is required?
Thank you!

In the gfx editor you can export/import the tileset ant the palete of most of gfx in the rom, you just need to export the palette you want to edit, change the colors in some edition program like paint or photoshop, overwrite the old palette with the new one, import and see the magic happens
