I would love to see Simon Belmont in place of John Morris in Castlevania bloodlines I think that would make the game more fun and this is a request hope to see some one take the challenge Bloodlines is off-limits! (jk), there are a few inconvenients regarding your request, the first one being the sprite style/size. Don't take this as an statement, but CV has an stablished sprite "style", the main one being RoB/SotN-ish (X68K Simon goes here), the other one would be the NES/GBA-esque style/size. Both Bloodlines and SCV4 won't fit in any of the above. (If you are talking of this version of Simon)
In deep: Simon's sprites are slightly taller and thinner, with a slow AF walk cycle (IV), John's sprites are interesting, slightly shorter, wide body/arms and regular sized legs (compared to the even horizontal size of the body and legs of any other major character) and a kinda-fast walk cycle, plus everyone's favorite (problem 2): segmented sprites! (at least for Bloodlines, IV and DX use a more mod friendly sprites: 16/24/32x16), this makes the sprite swap a really annoying thing to do. Lastly, color palette: MD games often don't use the whole 15 colors for a character, as opossed to any other more capable console, they have to share said palette with common items, like candles, particles and such, in the last pic, you can see that the status bar uses John's palette, the first color is used as background for it, then the white and gray are for the numbers, red and white for pause and stage title, 3 shades of brown/green for the chalice-like thing and character specific items, etc. so you ended up having less colors or replace it and try to make the other objects don't look like s.(Not so) useful info. SuperCV4 256x224/Mode 1/Mode 7. Bloodlines 320x224/H40 mode.

Take the Simon from X68k and Resize him to fit John's sprite set. Then, simply, swap in the sprites.

For Bloodlines its not simple size. Proportions in Bloodlines are different. So simple resize will make Simon look wierd.

What about Serio's custom Simon sprites? or even mod Jonathan's palette from POR to make him look like Simon, than swap him into Bloodlines.

Well, it kinda worked, but I can't promise a full char swap, too many 8x8 legs sprites! also, I have to lower character's colors to 9~, share colors (if possible) or rework common items like candles, subweapons, status bar, etc. it just gets worse. Idle anim only, the whole 15 colors just for Richter, poor index color arrange.

Anxiously awaiting the days of multiple hacks of every Castlevania! Trying to help in as many little ways as I can.
