If you didn't get any idea of what i mean by the title, that's basically what i understand about DSVania. I really just have no idea on how do i actually use it,and i can't find anywhere something that will make me understand it better on how does it actually work,is there some place where i can find a video tutorial or simplified text tutorial about it? It would really help me a lot

Entities are units (enemies) & objects, item editor have souls etc, enemy editor allows to edit hp etc. You cannot edit characters run speed etc for gba, for ds its possible in character editor. I don't remember any tutors for DSvania, its kinda obvious. Say more exactly what you want to edit.

I don't really want to edit anything at this point yet,i just want to understand how DSVania works exactly. Open DSVania, extract the rom you want to look at, I choose AOS. The rom shows up in the editor, with pictures, it is pretty self explanatory from there. Just experiment with each option: Text editor - choose short sword under weapons tab, rename whatever you want in big text area on right, click apply, sword renamed, then under item description tab, find description for short sword and change to whatever you want, click apply. then click tools, sprite editor, weapons tab, short sword, click open in GFX editor option, click export GFX, Replace sword in your favorite sprite editing program and change exported palette to match colors of new sprite, return to short sword in DSVania sprite editor, open in GFX editor, click import palette, then click import GFX. Next go to File, click save, close editor, go into extracted game folder, rename rom.gba to whatever, open new game in GBA emulator of your choice. Play new rom until pick up short sword, press attack. WHALAAA! Brand new sword! This same method works for all sprites of relative size. SOMA and JULIUS and event actor sprites for AOS can be found under 'other' tab. Somebody else can enlighten you more about the DS roms, as I have yet to edit any myself. But as I understand it, there are even more options for DS than GBA. the only gba roms not compatible right now are Circle of the Moon, Japan region roms, and the hack AOS Alter. Hope this helps.

I tnink main support of DSvania goes to USA versions only. It didn't opened EUR roms for me.

Sorry that i took this long to reply,i was too busy to check up on here, but anyways,i was really confused on how to use DSVania because the place where i downloaded the file came with a readme, but it was mostly just listing features and telling me to use other things but not really telling me on how to even start up the damn app, like telling me to turn the rom to ASCII but not how and essential stuff like that, the way the readme explained things was just by making things more complicated and it was just really hard to understand it,anyways, thanks for the help.

Yeah i downloaded before from romhacking.net,and the only thing that would happen when i tried directly opening the .exe file is it would open a console command window but would just stay blank and nothing else would happen,i checked if it got updated, but it was still the same version as before (the current 1.9.0 one) ,i even tried opening a rom with it,nothing changed.
