Released by LandonRay This is a hack of Castlevania SOTN which rebalances the difficulty. This includes adjusting enemy strength, enemy HP, weapon stat adjustment, removing more powerful (cheap) weapons, and adjusting spell attributes. All the changes are mentioned in the included Read Me. Patch is in PPF format, BIN/CUE format for the game image seems to work fine. Well, I like PSP Maria much more, I would add her some Saturn skills though, but that would require some serious modding work

Here's my experience: The first castle was awesome, challenging and fun, just on point. I died a lot of times in boss fights, and I had to use all the resources i have at my disposition to survive and move foward. Then, when I reach the inverted castle i was surprised that medusa and griffin where actually a challenge, but the level up system here got weird, I level up like nothing killing weak enemies, and making 1 exp point killing werewolf and minotaurs and it was like Wtf, each one is tough asf. At this moment most of the enemies give me 1 exp point, no matter how strong they were (except for Alastor for a time) and that was a turn down because it doesnt feel rewarding defeating enemies that kill me with 3-5 hits. The Crissaegrim doesnt hit enemies and I dont like that too. The rest was great, the bosses where hard, trevor and sypha just epic, Death a bit frustrating, and the rest pretty good. I think that the purpose of making the game harder it has to make worth it using cheap thins as crissaegrim and shield rod. Anyways, I enjoy this hack a lot, really feel the difference when i got the Alucard Sword, it help without putting it easy. I cant imagine how hardcore it must be the NOLEVELUP version. Thanks!!

If you're into psx version, check kind and fair mod tools, you can customize difficulty yourself. As for zero exp, it's possible on any SOTN version, including ps4 if you have a hacked console.

The changes to enemy stats definitely do apply to Richter Mode, so you'll definitely want to be careful while playing as him.
