Yeah DF has been a pretty great asset for newest hacks for NDS games. Good to know it can be used for AOS now as well. To be honest I hope for support for COTM first of all, we need updated Hugh & proper Nate boss to kick his @ss, maybe Morris too lol But asian gamers absolutely love AoS, there are countless videos on BiliBili. So I've noticed lol. We have been waiting on COTM support for way too long. COTM would be so much greater with reduced knockback, card editing support, making changing weapons as simple as changing arm accessory. Sprite swapping to make Hugh fight Morris would be cake too.

And I know that sounds a little weird but the artwork that they put into those rooms I thought was very well done and there's that hack that's being made with Castlevania 3 that is going to have alucard, Richter, and Maria in it but we can't make a program primarily for the purpose of hacking circle of the Moon what's up with that is it because it's too difficult or is it because people don't want to take the time to make one and as far as I know esco is still hacking Castlevania symphony of the night isn't he and since I looked around the internet for a program to hack Castlevania symphony tonight when I wanted to do that when I actually had my computer up and running I couldn't find a program to do that when I looked which means he actually went and took the time to make one to then be able to hack Castlevania symphony of the night so I'm sure being able to create a program for Castlevania circle of the Moon wouldn't be as hard as creating a program for Castlevania symphony of the night.

Esco is making fan game, he not working on SOTN modding anymore. It should be pretty easy to recreate COTM using using Gamemaker or Unity engines for anyone with a knowlege about those, but it will be a completely different thing. With DSvania support for COTM it would be doable to edit the game itself, I liking that idea more.

If was great the way it was we would not wanted to mod it in the first place. Game have the potential, but was basically killed off by a single playable character & zero replay value. Making Hugh an NPC was serious developer mistake. Player should have been able to select a character to play as & fight the other one near end of the game. Just making a fan game is a differeent thing & better to use custom sprites for DS/SOTN quality project then.

I don't know about you but I'm sure a lot of us replay that game and to be honest if we are going to talk about Hugh that's one of the only things I had an issue with in that game he didn't really fit he should have got his own game.

It got reason to be replayed after mods like Hugh & Morris came to be. Play same game as same character just because of a little change like magician mode? Hell no, it is a waste of time. I'm not a crazy fan of Nathan Graves & there is no reason to play this game second time without a second playable character first. There is a rule in CV games to give you unlockable character - RoB, SOTN, HoD, AoS, DoS, LoI, PoR CoD, OoE follow it just fine. LOL even Bloodstained ROTN. Just as Hugh should have been unlockable in COTM. Rumours say he was playable during a demo version. So it's clearly a mistake for him to be NPC. None of additional modes in COTM was any good anyways, they are just minor tweaks of the gameplay & in no way a reason for new walkthrough.

I will say that I have to disagree that not being a great game is the only reason to mod. After all Alot of the Castlevania's we are modding WERE actually great to begin with, like AoS DoS PoR and OoE, and PSP DXC. Sure, the system of CotM and lack of playable characters made it less than expected compared to other titles. But the map and story were still pretty great right?

You have a point of course, but here just several examples of weird stuff we have in CV games: Richter's main game costume & prologue portrait in SOTN are mistake, Albus's shirt colour not matches the art of the game, Shanoa's & Eric's hair colour in the game is different from what they supposed to have, Ralph's whip in CoD (boss version) is really weird, player one lack special skill boss version have (fist attack) & I-frames during Grand Cross, player Maxim in HoD is super weird, despite NPC one is just fine... So we have enough things to mod simply to fix wrong parts of the game. I'm no mean that game cannot be enjoyable as it is, none of those game breaking bugs or something, but...

I got your point though. I do agree that a game being less enjoyable from the gate, such as the mechanics of CotM, does grant us sooooo many more reasons to mod it. Loved the Hugh and Morris and Shadow mods. That is why I have been working with you and XB and LV and Dram in creating new mods with better mechanics, new music, and more playable characters. I love CV and want to give players everywhere more reasons to replay all of them than ever.
