I’m like 100% certain that they won’t run, lol, based on what I researched when working on this. If it had slowdown on an emulator on a system that’s more powerful than the original hardware, it will most likely run like garbage 😂

Simeone try to run the hack in an original GBA or DS? I already did and I didn't have any problems with it running or playing

Oh yeah xavierbelmont? No slowdown, played pretty well and sounded good?
I’m gonna do an update sometime this week, someone pointed out that the money names are messed up when you grab them, and I had a couple of ideas to fine tune.

Simeone try to run the hack in an original GBA or DS? I already did and I didn't have any problems with it running or playing It may just be emulator specific for slowdown. All other emu so far seem to be fine. Just don't try to run it on GPSP. Though I haven't tried to fine tune my emu settings on the PSP yet, that may fix the issue.

Thanks Drameloch! Yeah, I think I figured out how to fix some of the bugs. Such as the money bag names when you pick them up. I plan on releasing some tweaks and updated versions of it. If I could get the rest of the soundtrack with some proper sounding MIDIs I would definitely release a version with the original soundtrack with the different soundfont.
The past three weeks I’ve been crunching through two classes so it’s kept me away from doing revisions right now.
Starting a new class Monday that will hopefully not annoy me to where I have to skip working on rom hacks, 😂.
What were some of the bugs you encountered?

Well since i cant be sure i cant play too much this months so test some hacks are a little hard for me, i decide to use 2 hacks at the same time to have the time to play it so i cant be sure if that affect your hack, the other is the one that change the walk and jump animation
I see the one about the money and some names for enemys but the one thats was a hell where the one that you go to next room and just crash, the others i think you know it since i read it like some times the music dont start buuut like i say before since i was using 2 hacks i cant be sure if that was affecting your hack... :c

Yeah, I hear ya. I’m not sure if maybe I would need to make a change to the custom sound mixer I implemented, but I want to try to make a version of the music hack that’s compatible with other patches, like by maybe installing other patches first and then doing the music part last and see how that goes.

Oh man, the remixes still sound really good even when compressed! The music would benefit from being louder though.

I would have to agree the volume of the music could be turned up very slightly you don't want it too loud or else it might start doing a weird ass crackling and popping issue with the music.

Oh man, the remixes still sound really good even when compressed! The music would benefit from being louder though. Indeed, I noticed that as well. This was an earlier first try for it. Things have progressed MUCH more since then. I plan on making a big write up for it and a project page. Anyways, I got a lot of help tweaking the custom sound mixer from ipatix, the custom sound mixer’s creator. With his tweaks to the sound mixer, I’ve since been testing compressed higher quality songs (the one in the video are actually not compressed and are a super low sample rate) AND I’ve been increasing the volume of the songs and matching them as best I can to the sound effects. Not all of the songs come out quiet, some sound fine without tweaking, some are actually too loud. Example, Offense and Defense for the Marble Corridor section is originally too quiet, it then the song I used for the Boss Rush battles is WAY too loud, lol. I’ll record another clip later and post the link.

Hey guys, I made a quick comparison video using the Offense and Defense Remix I am using. I have the Remix playing first when I leave the save room, and then I go to Marble Corridor and it will play the vanilla song with the chiptunes. I increased the volume for this remix to balance it with the sound effects. I do a lot of random jumping around and killing enemies to hear how it sounds, and I did the same thing in the Vanilla Chiptune section and listened to how the sound effects are compared to the music. I think it's good to go. OH, before I forget, I did record this using Retroarch and the VBA-M core that does have some noise filtering to help get rid of the static sound that the GBA emulators have. Anyways, here's the link for the vid... drive.google.com/file/d/1X57TuCwKDVDuxG64uXS8FeeHM_wBBVCR/view?usp=sharing
