Hello everybody, for some time I have been working on a MOD from Castlevania SOTN, where I have been making modifications in various arias of the game such as: Maps, bosses, equipment etc ,, the goal is to give a new face by challenging the challenge. -I reset all the equipment and changed their status and achievements, -Chefes now have new A.I, movement, more speed as well as I also changed the scenarios of some bosses. .-Swords are now customized with different effects, colors and shapes to make them as unrepeatable as possible -I changed several songs from the areas, mainly in the second castle to remove all the boredom of listening to '' Lost paint 'and' 'Final tocata "in several areas, I added sounds like: Vampire killer, Blood tears, begining etc, -I will also change the place items and modify some rooms in the castle, relics will also be able to gain new effects as well as the whole game will be rebalanced (I am a fan of dark soul so it will be a little difficult hehehe) If you want to know a little more about the project and the updates can follow here: www.facebook.com/groups/769408230111138 This an test on Boss Olrox: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfPL2-0r7nkIf you want to contribute with something in the MOD send me a message, all help is welcome.

This sounds like an awesome project. Did you make some modding software for SotN? How would you be editing the map?

You said you made some musical changes. How? Could you swap in mp3s like I did with the PSP version? Having those remixes in this new mod would rock!

Thats nice to see one more brave soul trying to mod PSX Sotn!
Since you are working on changing weapons, one thing that I would like to suggest is to add at least 1 sword with H2O property element, because there's no way to damage with it , be it with weapons/familiars/spells. Also, Tyrfing its kinda of weird sword that sometimes deals cut/dark damage, but also do a kind of 'null' damage , which bypasses some enemies immunities and could be useful if you plan to change enemy resistances
Edit: Also , one thing that I would like to see its a way to add a MP Max UP via unused items , or chagning HP /MP max up to do that as well. that would be fun on some level 1 runs

Actually... Tyrfing do have a ATK -30 penalty . There are other swords with negative damage as well (I think bamboo sword and Muramasa starting level if I'm not wrong). Its a weapon that's only good for personal challenges. I've done one with only negative equipment and it was pretty fun to see alternate ways to beat the game (using more magic and hearts for example instead of physical attacks)

I've done one with only negative equipment and it was pretty fun to see alternate ways to beat the game (using more magic and hearts for example instead of physical attacks) it's in both the American and Japanese version that the tyrfing does -30 attack power also to even use the sword effectively the enemies can't have an immunity to dark and to be honest if you're going to use a dark sword you might as well use the mormegil hopefully I typed that right also I don't think that the bamboo sword gets any negatives to it I'm going to check real quick because I'm currently playing Castlevania symphony of the night right now as I'm speaking no takemitsu doesn't have any negatives if you're without a weapon and you go to it it actually brings your attack up instead of dropping it for me right now since my attack power since I took everything off is 51 I put it on in my attack is now 52 so it only brings your attack power up by one which of course that's to be expected especially since well it's a the weapon is a bamboo stored and of course since the Japanese bamboo sword it's dull it's a dull bladed sword since it's made out of bamboo and it was used by the Japanese to train men to be samurais that's what they got when they were younger before they trained with actual swords and sometimes even when they would train with actual swords they wouldn't always train with the actual swords that's of course to be expected especially if they have younger children who are going to become samurais

Some of the new arranged songs on there were pretty cool as well. Maybe swapping in like, Wicked Child, Thrashard in a Cave, Tower of Dolls, Moon Fight, and Simon's Theme to match the other retro remixes of the Saturn version.

I haven't figured out how to make an MP max but I'm working on it Thats nice ! eager to see those 2 in action ! one additional quality of life suggestion: remove the randomness of stats upon level up and give the best outcome possible. some people save scum a lot trying to get the best possible level up, which would be +1 for each stat (STR/CON/INT/LCK) and +5 for MP . Hearts and HP are not needed to change because they get non-random values (+2 each level for Hearts and HP varies based level-range)
