I would like to see 3 specific NES games converted to Castlevania games by way of swapping in player and enemy sprites. These games are Monster Party, Getsu Fuumaden, and Holy Diver. The games themselves are already creepy enough and are on the low end of popularity among NES titles. It would be great to give them a face lift with sprites from the Castlevania series, preferably CV2 or CV3. If anyone else agrees or is willing to make it happen please share your thoughts.

I think there is a hack of Holy Diver with sypha but im not sure, i cant find a video or something so perhaps i just dream it, i think it will be a cool idea for a add sypha as the main character in a game :3

I think she would go great with the rest of the game's aesthetics. Adding some minor Castlevania enemies would also be cool, but the bosses should not be changed as it would kind of be like a new experience for Sypha to encounter them.

Dude! I can't believe it. Why would anyone just let this disappear?! She even fight's Carmilla's Mask! It was so dope. There is no reason for us not to have this. It is funny how we can make games like Castlevania - The Red Wizard, and they go up on RHDN forever, but then Sypha in Holy Diver just vanishes like magic! I don't know about the sprite functions though, LV said they were pretty screwy. I tried to get him to put Holy Diver in Simon's Quest and he said they were all messed up.

You might try putting the holy diver into Castlevania one and then upping the difficulty of it

You can't just paste holy diver sprites into CV 1,2 or 3 cuz they work in a different way, Holy Diver are 8x8, like megaman, Super Mario 3, Duck Tales, even Master of Darkness... CV are 8x16, Like Super Mario 1, Contra, TMNT... Which often leads to sprites placed off grid, instead of sprites stacked together like CV. In short, Holy Diver sprites needs to be tweaked to match the shape/size of Simon/Trevor, and of course, cape must be removed because there's not enough space for it (in several animations, like jump and crouch)

Now, CV sprites to Holy can be done? maybe, you will need to arrange em with mesen cuz Holy sprites are off grid, and heavy reused between animations... A very small demo, I messed up the leg in the jump animation .-. CV Holy Diver mod.nes (256.01 KB)

Ahhh i just remember Faxandu (i think that was the name) is quite a metroidvania and a perfect fit for Castlevania Sprites

Thank you for the visual. I didn't understand exactly until I saw it. So in short, If someone resized the whole sprite set, it could be used so long as the specs match.
