Hello I'm new here,
I recently setup the Beetle PSX core in RetroArch to play SOTN which works great with the vanilla game but freezes on the PlayStation startup screen whenever I try to load it with the HardType mod applied.
I tested this with the other 2 cores available (DuckStation and PCSX ReARMed) and those handle it fine. Now while I could technically use these I'd much rather stick to Beetle PSX as it has many more emulation options available so if anyone knows how to fix that issue it would help a lot

Eh I don't know man, I just tried it with several plugins and it's nowhere close to be as good as Beetle PSX. I just need to figure out how to make romhacks work in Beetle, maybe it's just a setting but I wouldn't know

Beetle psx is a cycle accurate psx emulator. Alot of hacks and translations dont work on it,I do recall tales of phantasias phantasian productions translation to have the exact same issue something with disc integrity? anyway. Here is a github on the issue in TOP hopefully it points you in the right direction github.com/libretro/beetle-psx-libretro/issues/151
