Hi everyone its just a general question. I just finished the of the best mods. DOD and i was actuallt excited to do sonia mode. I just beat the 3rd boss but im falling out of love, this happens everytime in julius, in maxim basically in any other extra modes.
Whats so good about them? How do you finish them? Do you go boss by boss in order or just wander?
Maybe one of the reasons why i juat dont get into it is because the explore part is gone? Its like boss-level up-boss.
What do you guys think?

The alternate modes have basically always been IGA and Konami's way of trying to implement Classic-Vania inspired gameplay modes, but with the changes and improvements that are naturally present with the Metroid-Vania titles.
That being said... those same alternate modes also happen to start with most every Relic/Ability Soul/Magic Item right out of the gate. So the only reason one would want to explore is, at least in DoD, purely to farm EXP for levels.
They did get better about this somewhat in the later two DS-Vania installments, what with adding Max Up items into the equation, but it's still not as much a reason to explore as it is with the main modes.
EDIT: As for the question of whether you go boss-by-boss... well, you don't have to go by story order for the most part. However, if you want access to the Mine of Judgment and the Abyss, you have to kill all of the bosses that were necessary for Juste to get to that point in the main mode in the first place. So I wouldn't fault you if you decide to do boss-by-boss after reading this.

What do you guys think? when I was younger I really like this extra mode and explore the castle with an other character, the problem is that as I've get older I realise that is not value in doing that except enjoy the OP player I'm playing, and once I kill 1 or 2 bosses I already get bored, that's the same feeling i get playing most of the older AoS hacks :"(

Tho about the aos hacks they all seem fun. i still get hooked on it as long as it feels different i guess? I think maybe a way to make exploration worth while are maybe putting drops that would benefit the character like hp buffs or etc. Or maybe seal off some "other way" to make the castle one way and not a free roam. But i guess thatll take effort and more time.

Regarding the whole sealing off paths to make a one way path... I'm not sure if that can really happen without also affecting the main mode.

I just thought that by making the castle one way, the player woudnt feel so lost or it would feel like the old igavanias where its literally one way to get to the throne chamber.
