All the things you mention I could say about your Hugh Baldwin mod for PoR. It's not true to his character as Hugh doesn't use a whip. You don't like Richer that much that you felt the need to replace him with another character? Etc. I don't believe this, I think your Hugh mod is great even more so then some of your other great mods as you went the extra mile to give him the new attack animation. I don't however see how this type of mod is any different from the Ryu model swap I linked. 😏 this I can answer one by one. 1. I added Hugh his sword attack. That is his own thing. 2. I added whip as a separate thing, so you not have to use it, use just sword if you feel like it, but story wise Hugh was obsessed over whip's power, that is a weapon he craved to try out. 3. What I missed was his specials, that is something he lack at the moment, but they require anti staggering, which I have no idea how to implement now. 4. Hugh is a Castlevania character. He is from the same franchise as Richter. It's character transfer between games, he is not random dude in a Castlevania game! Richter himself is a guest in PoR, being long dead. Hayabusa is literally random dude in a different franchise being used for Sekiro. There are official exceptional cases, like Dante in Shin Megami Tensei for example. CV HD have Getsu Fuma in it. I don't remember Hayabusa to be mentioned in Sekiro. It's like porting 2B in Street Fighter. So I donno, I think expanding the game is much cooler, than random senseless crossover stuff, like what happened with MK11. If I want to play as Rambo, I would like to play as him in his own game. Not in MK. But that's just me. I'm not trying to deny that such crossovers bring more $ than rare MK characters, that only series oldies need. I think we just disagree on this subject. I'm not getting a 3d Castlevania game anytime soon and I don't have the talent to make one myself. I am however able to put Tervor Belmont into Skyrim. I must have spent a good 100 hours getting him out of Mirror of Fate, updating his model and textures with blender and gimp and putting him into Skyrim, learning as I went. The fact you call that "objectively lazy" bugs me.

Of course those were not just simple character swaps either. Both had their own weapons and skills created custom as well, not to mention new music too. You've said it yourself, you added tonn of stuff, some more effort & you get Ninja Gaiden on AoS engine. But that's different story. But that is rare case. Usually it's just protag ported, a character already playable more than enough. I'm not that of a fanboy of any character to put him around lol Especially when character is already playable. Like Rikimaru mod for Sekiro, just a head. Despite there are good quality Tenchu models lol. Then again if I wanna play Tenchu, I play Tenchu. If I wanna play Sekiro, I play Sekiro. If I wanna play Castlevania, I play Castlevania. I don't wanna see any random non CV stuff in it, like Duke Nukem or Metroid or Zelda lmao If I wanna mod Tenchu, I mod Tenchu, if I wanna mod FF, I mod FF, same goes for any other franchise. There tonns of scrapped content & wasted potential.

I have seen videos of SW Sidious there with own stuff & lightsaber. Just don't stop at model, if you really wanna Belmont there. But then you can play Mirror Of fate, which does have playable Trevor. You can play as him in LoS 2. Try hacking MoF to play as him in Simon's story for example. Tonns of options. I cannot play as Hugh in COTM, game stuck player as single character. See the difference? And there tonns of other characters in countless other games. I better work on making them playable to get something new, then play as same protagonist in another game. But that's just me.

Metroids, Link's Tunic, Magic Boomerang in Dawn of Dissonance. Or like the music I ported to Portrait of Decay, from several different games like TMNT, Mega Man Zero 2 and 3, Heroes of Mana, Lunar DS, Rosario + Vampire, etc... Super Mario Crossover was AWESOME GAME. Could play as SOOOOO many different characters from so many different games, INCLUDING CASTLEVANIA!!! Same levels, different skins for each character and each enemy, and different music. Definitive Mario game to date IMO. If I could, I would mod a whole FF6 game to have each character and each enemy from a different major game series, and include music from all of them.

Well, if you know those games, I can understand that. I personally never played Zelda & have no interest in it. I never played Metroid & don't care about Samus or how she is called. And those games have no other character for players to choose. Only games I wanted on Nintendo consoles were Kingdom Hearts 358.2, Tenchu 4, Tales of Symphonia 2, KH chains of memories & CV titles. So those references mean nothing to me. I made Richter's costumes for PoR, because Saturn is not very accessible, while DXC one is 3D only. However I already got Richter to use two costumes on PSP as well. I don't see the point porting Richter or Alucard into all CV games, they have have more than enough attention. We have other characters that deserve some scenic light, Maxim, Hugh, Albus, DoS cultists, Isaac (CoD) & many more. As for other games, when I want to mod a game, I seek ways to do it. Not transfer it's content to another game. I wanted playable Strega, Adachi & Velvet Room members in Persona, so I did them. I wanted Goro properly usable with persona switch in Persona 5 so I did it. I wanted to play as Onikage and fight heroes & Tenchu, so I did it. I wanted to play as KH1 Riku in DDD, so I found a way. I wanted to play as Goede, Widdershin, Lazaris, Dhaos, Barbatos & Saleh in Tales, so I did it. I wanted to play as Band Of Hawk folks in Berserk Musou & I found a way. I wanted to play as Y siblings in Streets of Rage 4, so I did it. I wanted to play as Evil Soma in Castlevania Fighter, so I found a way. I wanted to play as Kaoru in Hakuouki Musou & I got it. I wanted to play as Belial Avatar in Granblue Fantasy & I made him playable along other NPCs. I wanted to play as Oboro in Gintama Ranbu & I got what I wanted. I wanted to control Sephiroth, Genesis & Angeal in FF7 Crisis Core, so I made it possible. I wanted to see Kuja in my party in FF9 kills that dumb princess Garnet, so I make that happen. I wanted to play as Ayuta, Yorath & Cyllis in Chaos Rings Omega, even console exclusive status of the game didn't stopped me from achieving my dream. I wanted to play as Neikan in Magna Carta, now all main antagonists of this game are under my command with all their stats, skills & even summon creatures. I wanted to play as Faz in Last Ranker & I made him controllable. I wanted to see Ranmaru wins the battle in Onimusha 3 & kills Samanosuke, so I found a way to make that happen. I wanted properly playable Faulkner in Vanguard Bandits, so I made custom stages where I control him & kill protagonist Bastion. And I can continue on that list lol Since there are so many games around, I just don't see point to waste my time on things like Zelda or Metroid with their obsession over a single character under player control. I think there is nothing worse in a game, than try to dictate player which character to control. That's for us players to decide, which side to take - protagonist or villain. Game only supposed to ask us what we desire.

Well said both of you. It's not wrong to love some of the same things though. We all love Castlevania, or we would not be here.

Going back to the new series, I am really curious to know if it will cover both Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night? And if so, that certainly means we'll see Alucard again. It also makes me wonder if this series is successful, will Netflix possibly continue the series and show the events of Castlevania: Bloodlines, Portrait of Ruin, and maybe even the 1999 war that kills Dracula once and for all? I'd love to see that since we never got a Castlevania game that showed those events!
A good way for this new series to end could be showing Richter passing off the Vampire Killer to the Morris family, which in turn would set up the next series!
EDIT: One last thing, I am really hoping David Vincent will be the voice of Richter in the new series! I just can't imagine anyone else playing him at this point.

A wise move will be if they followed the DXC routte. Cause DXC routte has a little of drama to it since richter saves 3 heroines meets the little maria renard which gives them the opening/opportunity of doing SOTN and ultimately facing drac.
Then they might be able to do sotn as amother spin off or maybe give it some seasons to make the series longer.
Tho i highly doubt theyll be staying canon. Most likely scenario theyll just whip up a whole new story to it while keeping the elements of cv into it.

So I want to come in here and put my two cents in here as to the crap having to deal with putting ryu Hayabusa in Castlevania Aria of sorrow the problem with complaining about it now is that it's been on here for a couple years now and not just that like I've mentioned before about my hack having to do with that character I appreciate everyone's help that helped me out in creating that hack it was not easy for any of us whatsoever not to mention if anyone was to come from another franchise into Castlevania there's a good chance that the best franchise character to put into Castlevania would be ryu hayabusa and I'm only going to name a couple here's one for example he fights demons in Castlevania you fight demons another thing he goes through castles oh wow the Castlevania game actually has Castle in its title that's right you go through a castle making him actually one of the most qualified characters from another franchise to actually enter into the Castlevania world not to mention we have to pay attention to a character who wasn't a part of the Castlevania franchise who was put into the Castlevania franchise that was from another franchise by Konami and that is getsu fuma and if nobody remembers what Castlevania he was in that I will revive to everybody that he was in harmony of despair as a playable character with his own story as well so I do believe that there are some characters from other franchises that could fit into Castlevania quite well without causing a problem samus aran no ryu Hayabusa yes now as for Solid Snake we can't necessarily say no to that character as he goes wherever he sent to even if that means it would be a castle and since Castlevania has nods to the Metal Gear Solid franchise it would be safe to say that Solid Snake would indeed be a good fit to put into the Castlevania series not to mention in my hack he's supposed to be a mercenary who is to eliminate the terrorist leader for information on the location of a new type of metal gear that is in development

You have Hayabusa in every NG game. He is a stale character constantly being playable. That's more than enough. If I would like to make Ninja Gaiden related mod, I would definitely NOT use Hayabusa. There are other characters, who deserve attention. For example Masked Regent. Absolutely awesome char, that was literally wasted & never made playable. I would love to play as him & fight against Hayabusa. Who knows maybe it's doable now using RPCS3 lol Sekiro have own cool stuff - Genichiro, Emma, Owl, Isshin. Those are way better characters than player wolf midget. And instead of making them, official DLC bring meaningless costumes. Laughable! And model import is not Hayabusa, there is huge amount of work to be made, custom animation, voices, skills. From what I know none of that is possible. That is why I think it's convenient to play Sekiro as Sekiro instead & use characters it have, such as Genichiro, great one. Controlling him properly with own animation, skills & stuff is possible.
