First of all, hello. Well, I'd like to leave you with a little project of mine, which aims to create a Definitive version of the PSP collection, which I consider to be the best Castlevania to date. A lot of it isn't really original, since I'm just starting out and I've used some modified versions of the game as a basis. Leaving aside the introductions, here are the changes: Original Black Border for RoB,SoTN and Peke; DXC: Vampire Killer from the prototype version of the game; Modified songs: Divine Bloodlines (Pachislot), Vampire Killer (Naoto Shibata), Bloody Tears (SAGA Remix), Cross a fear (Belmont Legacy Remix), Den (Naoto Shibata), Beginning (Naoto Shibata) and some other slight modifications I made to the originals. RoB: Songs are now fully extended (no abrupt ending and restarting); Credits theme replaced by Jorge d. Fuentes' version of Dracula XX; Alternative patch with the soundtrack of Dracula XX from the super Nintendo. (Just move it to the rondo bgm of the hack). SoTN: Sprites of Richter from I am Me; Weapon and enemy names changed to versions closer to their Japanese counterparts, e.g. Lossoth > Bifrons. Some songs replaced: Dracula's Castle, Blood Relations and festival of servants replaced by their Sega Saturn versions and the Black Banquet theme by Banquet of Madness from portrait of Ruin. Code exclusives: Being able to switch between both richter costumes (credits to i am me) Wing smash doesn't stop just like the Sega Saturn version; Buff of richter's vampire Killer (credits to i am me); Selectable sub-weapons (credits to andrômeda): Cross (R + Up) Holy Water (L + Up) Axe (R + Square) Dagger (L + Square) Bible (L + Circle) Agunea (R + Circle) Clock (L + X) Rebound Stone (R + X) Salt (Circle + Down) Below are the codes needed for a complete experience: _C1 SoTN - QoL Fixes _L 0xD0963C59 0x20000007 _L 0x00963C72 0x00000003 _L 0xD0963C59 0x20000000 _L 0x00963C72 0x00000000 _L 0X009C95DB 0X00000063 _L 0XD0000000 0x10000300 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000000 _L 0XD0000000 0x10008100 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000001 _L 0XD0000000 0x10008200 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000002 _L 0XD0000000 0x10000110 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000003 _L 0XD0000000 0x10000210 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000004 _L 0XD0000000 0x10002100 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000005 _L 0XD0000000 0x10004100 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000006 _L 0XD0000000 0x10004200 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000007 _L 0XD0000000 0x10002040 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000008 _L 0XD0000000 0x10002200 _L 0X00963F90 0X00000009 _L 0xD0963918 0x20000001 _L 0x00963F40 0x000000e9 _L 0xD0963918 0x20000001 _L 0x00963F41 0x00000003 _L 0xD0963918 0x20000002 _L 0x00963F40 0x000000e9 _L 0xD0963918 0x20000002 _L 0x00963F41 0x00000003 _C0 SoTN - Serio's Outfit _L 0x001a724d 0x00000034 _L 0x001a724e 0x0000002e _L 0x001a724f 0x00000042 _L 0x001a7250 0x00000049 _L 0x001a7251 0x0000004e _L 0x001a7252 0x0000003b _L 0x001a7253 0x00000031 _L 0x001a7254 0x00000000 _L 0x001a7255 0x00000000 _L 0x001a7256 0x00000000 _L 0x001a7257 0x00000000 _C0 SoTN - Classic's Outfit _L 0x001a724d 0x00000033 _L 0x001a724e 0x0000002e _L 0x001a724f 0x00000042 _L 0x001a7250 0x00000049 _L 0x001a7251 0x0000004e _L 0x001a7252 0x0000003b _L 0x001a7253 0x00000031 _L 0x001a7254 0x00000000 _L 0x001a7255 0x00000000 _L 0x001a7256 0x00000000 _L 0x001a7257 0x00000000 Here The link: Base game: mega.nz/file/I65AEQqb#h5zFdcivecMx2cHB4Lm0eF2lCKsna8dHLDI4bXafDd4Dracula XX soundtrack: mega.nz/file/0yACUbAA#463L78Xzzux5c4iulnKoNsYsUFFsQhFd4VfM4cqXgQg I plan to keep updating this as I improve and as new tools become available. Especially buff Maria... Unfortunately she suffers from having such low damage compared to the other modes... I plan to make the attributes closer to their sega saturn version, while the richter in something closer to portrait. The bosses are also something I plan to improve, and I've even done a little research into their hp and stats in later games.Unfortunately, even in the ps1 hacks (which have more tools), the modes are very unbalanced. In the hard type hack, richter's mode looked very promising since Alucard's mode generally proved to be challenging but fair. Unfortunately, the first one proved to be more of a kaizo than something challenging and fair (which may have been the author's proposal given how pathetic the difficulty of the original is... but again, it's not something I particularly enjoyed).

SoTN: Weapon and enemy names changed to versions closer to their Japanese counterparts, e.g. Lossoth > Bifrons. Thanks a lot for doing this! Some of these leftovers from Blaustein's PS1 localization were quite an eyesore. However, I noticed that most of the bestiary and item descriptions weren't changed, and some of the names remained the same as before: (Items) Marsil > Laevatein (Enemies) No.006 Warg > Anfauglir No.020 Slogra > Berigan No.047 Dhuron > Dullahan No.083 Gurkha > Gurkha Master No.084 Hammer > Hammer Shaker No.085 Red > Red Smasher No.087 Discus Armor > Disc Armor No.092 Olrox > Orlok No.101 Yorick > Soccer Boy (I personally prefer "Yorick" though) No.116 Amalaric Snipe > Amalaric Sniper No.137 Salome > Sausine No.138 Bourreal > Bourreau (Also, some suggestions of what I'd rather change:) Invisible > Invisible Cape Moon Stick > Moon Rod (for consistency; it also was "Moon Rod" in the Japanese version) Vjaya > Indra's Light ("Vjaya/Vijaya" is OK, and I know it was called that in AoS, but Vjaya is supposed to be Indra's bow, not a sword; not a big deal) No.086 Slime Large > Large Slime No.094 Grave > Tombstone No.128 Franken > The Creature (I know it's called "Franken" in the Japanese version, but calling The Creature "Frankenstein" is a popular error; not a big deal) No.126 Evil > Cthulhu (I know it's called "Evil" in the Japanese version, but its bestiary description mentions it being an "ancient evil god", referencing the Old Ones of Lovecraft mythos; not a big deal) Oh, also, the Tactics option in the Library has the old localization names (Karasuman, Granfaloon, etc). Would've been nice to change those too. Some songs replaced: Dracula's Castle, Blood Relations and festival of servants replaced by their Sega Saturn versions Do you also plan to include more Saturn versions of some tracks? Iirc, Wandering Ghosts has an extra drum beat right before the next loop starts, and Crystal Teardrops has a different organ arrangement, compared to the PS version (if you could combine both versions (PS version loop > SAT version loop > PS version loop > SAT version loop, etc), it would've been perfect). Also, fixing the sound pitch of some sound effects to be more accurate to the original PS1 version would've been a great addition. Overall, great job!

Thank you very much for your support Well, as far as the names are concerned, some have remained the same or are unfortunately incomplete due to the number of letters allowed, unfortunately it's not something I've managed to change so far. Thanks for the tips on some of the names, I do plan to correct them in the future (I also prefer "yorick"). Thanks for the recommendations. Until now I thought that only these themes had been changed, I will definitely add them (now that I realize that I didn't add it in the description, but the guardian theme is now in the ost, I'm looking for a way to add it to the fight against Maria). The sound effects are something I'm really looking forward to fixing (my ears hurt just imagining the sound of the frozen shades). Luckily I've already watched this tutorial Lastly, I strangely changed the names of the tactics, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect. Thanks again for your support.

I just recently started playing this. It is a fine addition to this site, and the SOTN fans altogether. I already have most of the QOL patch codes for my PSP cwcheat. I was wondering which codes from the list are specifically for the infinite Wing Smash (like Sega Saturn ver.). Also it would be really cool if you could find the unused items in the code and implement them into the game, such as: Dash Boots acquired after defeating Richter, Lyrics Card from Inverse Catacombs, I noticed a couple of those items are already in the PSP version, along with a half-assed version of Maria (compared to her Sega Saturn counterpart with Mega Man chargeable shots and SF combo moves). Adding the Astral Dagger and Alucard Spear would be fantastic. These Ideas are based on the newly posted SOTN Reborn mod all over the net right now. I realize that mod is for the PSX and that the PSP version is a whole seperate coding style, but the unused items should still be in there somewhere, unless they removed them altogether during the remake. (like Saturn Maria and the 4 Maps)
Still, the improvements thus far are much appreciated by all. And for general reference, this mod is fully compatible with other mods listed on this site. It just takes a bit of effort to get the game customized to just what you like. For instance, I took This version, added the Curse of Darkness Trevor and Remixes, made by myself and I Am Me, then added the Remixes from my own Remix of the Night to SOTN, then added the newly posted Original PSX Dub voices, and it runs perfectly with your QOL changes. I just don't yet have the Unending Wing Smash due to already having a QOL Code in my cwcheat. Though I will likely just replace my QOL code with this one.

I'm currently updating the translation of the items in general and adding some other songs from the Sega Saturn version. Unfortunately, because the PSP version has these code differences from the PSX version, it's not very viable for modifications. Fortunately, with the new randomizer for this version released recently, I hope this scenario is changing... I'll update the post for a new version soon 😀 And no problem using my version, I'm happy to contribute to this community!

How to play this on PPSSPP? Move the file to the GAME folder in ppsspp and extract the file with an app or extraction program (I recommend RAR).

Would it be possible to get the Wing Smash code in isolation?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out.

Hey, I noticed you hadn't changed the name of the Marsil to "Laevateinn" to match original JP. I'm assuming that's because you were working with the 6 character limit the Marsil's name data has before the description data comes along. That said, I just figured out how to change the amount of bytes you can use per name and description. For the Marsil specifically, changing the bytes at the following addresses in dra.bin: 0008c87c 78 -> 76 0008c880 80 -> 82 0008c8b0 98 -> 9c Will make it so that Marsil's name data starts at 0008a776, and the description data starts at 0008a782 While also moving the Dark Blade's name data down to 0008a79c. Giving you enough space to use the "Laevateinn" name while also leaving you with 25 Characters to use for its description. Attachments:

I’m curious if you’re able to add new songs wholesale. In the Saturn version, I believe Maria uses a unique song called “Guardian”. There’s debate about whether Blood Relation is better fitting, or if Guardian is better used for her specifically, so perhaps giving her the unique track is worthwhile.
