Long time no see. My life is busy as always and it barely leaves me time for the hack. BUT! The castle corridor tilesets are already finished, soon as I finish the next zones we can talk about a demo for you guys. Right now I am polishing the palettes and animations of the effects and particles (fire, clouds of dust, lightning, etc.) and as the icons of the items use the same particles, I was working on these as well. Here I leave a couple for you to identify if you can, there are many more rare and memorable than those but I do not want to make spoilers about the future content of the game. sugerences are welcome as always

Great work this far! This kind of looks like Symphony of the Night for the Game Boy Advance!

Keep at it! So far you have been the only one to put such extensive programming into a CV mod to date. There have been some great mods and hacks. But nothing that changes every tile in the game to match that of SOTN. Can't wait.

But nothing that changes every tile in the game to match that of SOTN. Can't wait. thanks for the cheer up, and yeah I know this is easily the most extensive GBA hack until the moment... but I hope this inspire the people to be more bold about castlevania hacking. When I discover the hacking community I enjoy hacks like dawn of symphony or julius story mode, but as they actually don't change to much of the game and I usually just import my 100% game file and was like yeah they import a CotM character... cool, this modded weapon looks nice, oh they change the paletes of a few enemies. But the game was always the same even if they change the dialogues too ... BUT if you try to do that in this game you'll get totally lost inside the castle, your inventory will be full of "I have no idea of what this object is", it will be confusing and honestly breathtaking as you advance the corridor with unknown music a different map and tileset, you won't even be able to recognize what part of the old AoS you're step in. And that's precisely the spirit I want for this game. And I totally recomend to start a fresh game, so for the story and the game content, I can't wait to see the reaction of the testers once I release the Demo in the next months XD.

That will be so awesome. I want to be a tester too. But I won't push it as you probably have more than enough already. But you are exactly right. I liked the new character imports, but with same portraits, dialogue, map, and music, it still feels like the same old AOS. That is actually why I enjoyed importing patches with new map layouts and weapons made by ikkasutatsu. Porting current modded characters and new weapons to those new castle layouts, and then customizing my own music, was a blast. Eventually though, I wanted to help on some DS titles as well. Thus all of the recent bugfixing struggles on CVPOBL.

To be sincere... this game is my testament for hacking... at least hacking by my own, I just interested to make a sotn resemble in a GBA castlevania and its going really well

You know seeing all these changes, it truly amazes me what the GBA was capable of as a console! What a very underrated machine it was!

What a very underrated machine it was! well Im actually just modding the exact same elements the game already have... I'm just using more vibrant paletes for the scenarios, bigger graphics for the character and objects and like that... the GBA is actually a not that powerful console the only thing I'm doing that konami developers don't is a better compression work with the tilesets and paletes, that give me way more freedom at the moment of animate any thing.

Nevertheless, the fact you're able to do all this with the GBA I think is most impressive!
