well Im actually just modding the exact same elements the game already have... I'm just using more vibrant paletes for the scenarios, bigger graphics for the character and objects and like that... the GBA is actually a not that powerful console the only thing I'm doing that konami developers don't is a better compression work with the tilesets and paletes, that give me way more freedom at the moment of animate any thing. Nevertheless, the fact you're able to do all this with the GBA I think is most impressive! indeed

well ... the last tileset I made, which would be the one that ended the process of creating the castle corridor, has made a shame of the previous ones I had done. So now I'll be a couple of weeks correcting that -_- and I had completely forgot that there is an outdoor area that needed its tileset too (I'm talking about the entrance).
And I'm still deciding the design of the character, trying to make it even more striking, refined and cool, I'm also working with Sorrow trying to edit the original animations through the HEX editor. so ... which one do you like the most? alucard and the others are next to compare

This is the Castle main corridor and the saving dice fully animated + the new bone pillar... Now there´s some broken stuff like the life´s numbers palettes and some other stuff but this is getting some neat shape View AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentI think this was coolest, with Soma in it.

New one looks better for sure. But I like the basic stance of the old one better. New ones stance should be up pose.

New ones stance should be up pose. yeah... for a idle pose is a better stand, but as I need something more striking to the view and a more inspired charcter pose i make the new one, any way im still looking for the perfect or at least almost perfect pose

This talking about character sprites makes me reflect about the artistic work that castlevania sprites have received, both, from official games and fanmade. If we look from the games of the 90s there was a slight decline in quality, and although the sprites of the DS games (i'm tottaly excluding the GBA games obviusly) have a god tier animation work and are well recognizable, it is easy to see in the lines, the way to distribute the shadows and volumetric lights in the sprite and even the amount of colors they use are imposible to stand besides the sprites of the 90s in terms of visual aesthetic and detail, the same with the fan made ones, who suffer from the same syndrome and even worse, since they are the rushed effort of people who work only with the love for the saga and the vast majority are even artists as such, with very very few works that can be considered high quality for a game that impersonates or at least equals SotN (exept the umbra and sotn-hacked teams those are like the reunion of all the artist and programer beasts of the castlevania fandom... exept me lol) And i'm putting all I have to turn this in a worth succesor of what left from the 90s legacy T-T.

Magnificent and stylized IT actually looks more like a monster or a villian... I love it

I think this was coolest, with Soma in it. interesting... can I know what in soma's design you preffer? from shape to collors even outfit It's little different. Game looks like an enhanced version of AoS, or even another story for Soma, like one used for the novel. That gives me desired Castlevania feeling. That is all.

Funny thing... when i start the mod the first days I think... hey what if I just make the novel... then I think... well people already know the novel, the enemies of the novel, I won't adapt a game this limited to fit an already made product... so I deside to make my own castlevania... as since I have 15 yo this is one of the most biggest desires... but if you want, once realised the game you can mod the main character and the actors to emulate the novel like all the other old mods

It will never be something vague like "There is a guy with a whip hunting demons", no. It is because I like that certain character that I control, I like the story, I like villain. Gameplay to me is secondary & is barely important. I won't ever touch a game, where I dislike characters story wise or where I cannot play as a character I like the most. It is a waste of time. So I play Castlevania because I like Castlevania & it's stuff, there are things I may disagree with or desire to change, but overall it is a positive reception. So if I wanna see a Castlevania mod, I want it to use Castlevania content. If I ever want other game, I just play other game. There are countless of those, some I even mentioned above. As for novel about games, game is a game, so playing the novel is a bigger joy to me.

That was something to happened with the Mummy demasterd.. and I feel really bad about it because the game is hell dope in all ways posible. But I'm always open to new experiences and enjoy new characters... that's why I make this guy with the elements that "I" find more attractive for a castlevania protagonist, for me it will stay like that, as I already waste a lot of time making it and as a design is really attractive. And I want to push up the castlevania paradigm... they've been canibalizing the same ideas since sotn, most of the the games and hacks feature Alucard Richter Simon or some old character, are wasted ideas that they use over and over again... and I'm kind of tired of that(Btw I love those games any way and all the effort of the community for keep the castlevania flame alive is admirable). And I think that Castlevania is the castle, the atmosphere, the silky animated character, the tools for progress the adventure, the music. Alucard, Shanoa, Simon etc are just phases, chapters inside the whole thing. So I want something new and fresh... that's why I'm using 0 old main characters, maybe one or 2 cameos but that's it
