Remember that method I told you in the COTM sprite topic you made? castlevaniamodding.boards.net/thread/449/circle-moon-questionIt works for AOS and HOD as well, in fact its easier for AOS since you do not have to change the canvas size and the sprites have less restraints size wise. Also there is the added benefit of DSvania which makes things like finding the sprites and editing the palettes much easier, github.com/LagoLunatic/DSVEdit

Yes you just need to edit the original tileset, the only problem is that you will need to keep the same animations, so where appears Soma's walking frames you will put your character walking frames, until now DsVania can't edit Soma's animations just the Sprite

ok but is there a way to get rid of the original sprite so I can put in all new Sprite in place of the original player character can you even do that? Of course its doable, just check out the AOS sprite hacks on this forum in the gba hacking section. When you cut out the image using a basic image editor like Paint.NET it gives you a Rectangle shape image with your sprite in the middle with whatever color your background is, for your new sprite you use Tilemolester to essentially paste that image/sprite over whatever sprite you want it to, that sprite is pretty much pasted over in its entirety, you do this measure for each and every sprite until they are all replaced. As I said this requires basic image editing skills to do since you only have to use the editing tool in a program like Paint.NET to make a box around your image, crop it, make sure the size is the same as the original sprite you are replacing, and then using tile Molester to apply that image/sprite over the existing one. Here is a simple tutorial on cropping, you would have to do what is shown in the video for each individual sprite and then use Tile Molester to apply them over the existing sprites. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIp886_Tw_c

DsVania turn unaccesibke the main character sprites if you change it using other program

DsVania turn unaccesibke the main character sprites if you change it using other program True but this only affect if you want to manually edit Soma's sprites with DSvania which I'm more comfortable with Tile Molester anyway, pretty much I only use DSvania as a reference point for my animation editing, what I do is open DSvania up with a clean unedited version of AOS and go to Soma animations like walking, jumping etc to see what order they are in, with Tile Molester open in another window you can then just copy the appropriate animation and sprite to where it is within Tile Molester which has always worked just fine for me. EDIT But of course my method is not the only one, there are other ways to replace sprites that some may find easier while others do not, I'm only explaining the method I use personally but others are free to share their own as a alternative method.

ok but is there a way to get rid of the original sprite so I can put in all new Sprite in place of the original player character can you even do that? If Dark Function had support for GBA games, you could insert anything, but there is only DS CV games support for now. Without that you are limited to base of original sprites. Therefore insert new sprites to match original ones as close, as possible.

Google "getpaint.net" and be sure to get the grim color reaper plugin. DSVania to export GFX, open each frame in paint.net, open sprite sheet of new sprite in paint.net at same time, copy and paste. Can also resize, rotate whole image, mirror image, sharpen/soften edges, and even add effects like motion blur, which I used for my custom black panther soul in Ninjavania, and Aria of Espionage. Once frames are complete, open DSVania, import GFX. Test in game. Adjust as needed. This will help aleviate some of the limitations of GBA sprites.

Hello Everyone. More of a question for a menu image than a sprite, but I was playing around with DSVania, and I wondering if anyone knew how to go about being able to change the colors of the rom in Aria of Sorrow? For example, if I wanted to change the final colors of the castle and name logo as pictured before in the rom? I know you can select palettes, but i dont know how to make DSVania preview and/or save whatever changes can be done? Any help going towards the right direction is appreciated, thank you!
